Jed and the Valentine (Maria Khaner and Jonah Morris) weave glimmers of guitar and banjo with their soul-stirring vocals, carefully crafting their own personal brand of sun-dappled indie-folk. The duo had been dating for two years before they decided to start casually writing songs together, bringing their most vulnerable moments into\nmusic.\nIt was only months before they were invited to play at some of Canada’s major folk festivals, and in the year following, they released their debut album Awake! ( 2024 ). Their debut was full of wonder; the album brought soaring harmonies, rich layers of melodies mingling with one another, and lyrics that dance alongside the mix of string and brass instruments creating a\nfusion of bluegrass, pop, and indie. In Like a\nLion, Out Like a\nLamb ( 2025 ), the duo’s sophomore album, punctuated the duo’s journey with a\nspot in CKUA ’s Top Ten. Jed and the Valentine wear their hearts on their sleeves\n- and still leave you wanting more.\nJed and the Valentine are officially celebrating the release of their third album\n“Scavenger’s Instinct” and it’s a\nnight you won’t want to\nmiss!","source":"INGESTION","status":"ACTIVE","createdAt":"2026-10-01T04:20:32.385Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-01T04:20:32.457Z","occurrenceId":"09789b7e-1e19-441e-9c99-4692cadeb8ef","slug":"jed-and-the-valentine-scavengers-instinct-album-release","publicPath":"/events/2026-10-25-jed-and-the-valentine-scavengers-instinct-album-release","isAllDay":false,"endDate":null,"doorsTime":null,"timezone":"Etc/GMT+6","recurrenceEnabled":false,"startTimeLocal":"19:30","endTimeLocal":null,"doorsTimeLocal":null,"startsOn":null,"endsOn":null,"rrule":null,"exdates":[],"frequency":null,"ruleDetail":null,"sourceUrl":"https://www.edmontonarts.ca/event/jed-and-the-valentine-scavengers-instinct-album-release","ticketUrl":null,"price":null,"ageRestriction":null,"performersText":null,"cancelledAt":null,"cancelledReason":null,"tags":[],"bands":[],"artists":[],"venue":{"id":"b2295632-4477-4934-a0f8-53d2b5b0b6a3","name":"Myer Horowitz Theatre","city":"Edmonton","slug":"myer-horowitz-theatre","publicPath":"/venues/myer-horowitz-theatre"},"contributors":[{"id":"8bf8475c-fa41-4163-a0c2-6f250338a870","handle":"yegadmin","displayName":"Tony Admin","badges":[{"code":"YEGINSIDER","label":"YEGInsider"},{"code":"CONTRIBUTOR","label":"Contributor"}]}],"primaryImageUrl":null,"primaryImageAssetId":null,"squareImageUrl":null,"squareImageAssetId":null,"bannerImageUrl":null,"bannerImageAssetId":null,"galleryImageAssetIds":[],"effectiveOccurrence":{"id":"09789b7e-1e19-441e-9c99-4692cadeb8ef","eventId":"131670b1-7521-4c58-9f27-9ed7a797eb98","startDate":"2026-10-25","startTime":"2026-10-26T01:30:00.000Z","endTime":null,"startTimeLocal":"19:30","endTimeLocal":null,"doorsTimeLocal":null,"status":"ACTIVE","isOverride":false,"titleOverride":null,"descriptionOverride":null,"performersTextOverride":null,"sourceUrlOverride":null,"ticketUrlOverride":null,"isAllDay":false,"endDate":null,"doorsTime":null,"sourceItemId":null},"nextOccurrence":{"id":"09789b7e-1e19-441e-9c99-4692cadeb8ef","eventId":"131670b1-7521-4c58-9f27-9ed7a797eb98","startDate":"2026-10-25","startTime":"2026-10-26T01:30:00.000Z","endTime":null,"startTimeLocal":"19:30","endTimeLocal":null,"doorsTimeLocal":null,"status":"ACTIVE","isOverride":false,"titleOverride":null,"descriptionOverride":null,"performersTextOverride":null,"sourceUrlOverride":null,"ticketUrlOverride":null,"isAllDay":false,"endDate":null,"doorsTime":null,"sourceItemId":null}}}
