She has a BFA degree from the University of Alberta, plus post-graduate courses in various fields, most notably 4 years of sculpture (figurative clay and abstract wood and steel). Sharon strongly believes that adopting a growth mindset is essential to evolve as an artist. By developing new skills to express and communicate ideas allows us to inform and interface with what inspires our creativity. Sharon uses her visual and literary skills as tools to engage, provoke and elicit inquiry into life, nature and art.\n\nImage\n\nShort description\n\nJoin instructor Sharon Moore-Foster for a delightful sculpture workshop using the medium of clay to sculpt birds, animals, flowers and other inspirations drawn from nature.\n\nThe aim of the workshop is to capture the beauty & energy of nature and translate those moments of awe experienced in nature into a sculpted form.\n\nThe unique properties of clay, various sculpting techniques, and the fundamental skills of looking, seeing, and making will be covered to enhance your visual literacy and foster creativity.\n\nAn in-class discussion, showing a few of Sharon’s finished works, is followed up with emailed notes.\n\nLet’s play with purpose, and create from our natural world what is rich and sustaining!
