The album is intended to showcase Edmonton’s folk scene and promote local musicians to a wider audience. Following the success of Vol. 1, we’ve decided to expand our vision for this next release. We will be applying for a grant from the EAC to help fund studio time, promotion, distribution, and sales for Vol. 2.\n\nAbout Edmonton Folks:\n\nThe Edmonton Folks albums are collaborative projects featuring musicians from the Edmonton community. Their purpose is fourfold:\n\nTo promote Edmonton musicians to a wider audience they might not otherwise reach.\n\nTo provide additional merchandise for artists to sell. Each participating artist will purchase their own copies of the album at the manufacturer’s price, sell them at their shows, and keep any profits.\n\nTo foster connections within the local music scene and encourage future collaboration.\n\nTo celebrate the project with an album release show, which will also serve as a fundraiser for our beloved CKUA.\n\nRecording will begin in early 2027 and release will take place in Spring of 2027.\n\nImage\n\nShort description\n\nAre you a folk musician based in the Edmonton Amiskwaciw-Waskayhkan and greater area?\n\nWant to be part of a collaborative album that features an array of folk artists?\n\nWhether you’ve recorded your music professionally or not, whether you’ve performed for years or are just getting started, we want to hear from you!\n\nChoose post type\n\nArts opportunity\n\nTags\n\nTags are used to categorize postings so that users can easily find opportunities that apply to them.
