Alberta is a living tapestry shaped by topography, history, and peoples. From Indigenous and Métis traditions to the experiences of settlers and contemporary communities, each voice adds to our evolving Identity.
The Alberta Society of Artists invites contemporary interpretations reflecting upon
emotion, time and place. Together these works will form a broad expressive vision of Alberta, honouring our past while looking toward our future.
Submission Guidelines
Artists are invited to respond creatively to the exhibition theme, offering unique
perspectives on Alberta’s evolving culture and diverse communities. Contemporary and conceptually driven approaches are strongly encouraged, while all submissions should demonstrate a clear and thoughtful engagement with the theme. Selected works will collectively reflect a broad range of lived experiences shaping Alberta’s history.
Alberta Storytellers is open to all Alberta artists who are 18 years of age or older. We welcome work in all visual media to explore each artist’s personal connection to place—expressions of lived experience.
The exhibition will be held in a commercial venue so all works will be for sale.
Submissions should consist of art that is less than 2 years old and may include 2D and a limited number of 3D works.
Optional Complementary Programming
Exhibition programming may also include storytelling or performance components to complement visual works, particularly in partnership with Indigenous, Métis, or community-based artists in the touring locations.
